Tia Jessie - GO ASU!!!

Jessie really is a great person! All these stories are in great fun and I know Jessie appreciates all the great times. However, being that I am a little... ok, very prideful (but that runs in our family because we are all so great!) I am going to share a picture of Jessie and her ONLY nephew! I will never forget the call I got from Jessie about 3 weeks before Kimball - my son was born. She was shopping for the baby shower. She called about 3:00 and asked where the Babys R Us was located. I told her and she went on her way. I called her about 3:30 to ask if she had found it and she said she had, and was getting ready to leave because she bought the present. SO, about 7:30 I received a call from her..."So do what kind of clothes hamper do you want for Kimball?" was the only thing I heard when I said 'Hello!' I asked if she was still there and she laughed and said yes - her cart was now full and she was trying to get out but there are just too many good things to buy babies... What a great Tia! Yes, I am only speaking to Kimball in spanish so he knows Jessie as Tia Jessie... HEre is a picture of them on Game Day a few weeks ago...

Detroit anybody?

Jessie: "hey - I have a question - Isn't Vancuver the capital of Detroit?

Family member: Jessie neither of those places is a state!

Jessie: Huh?

Family member: ...exactly... HUH?!

Now, jessie teaches 5th grade! But don't worry - she teaches on the West Side!

My brights are on, oh well.

When Jessie was a relatively new driver, she once noticed that her brights were on. Unable to figure out how to turn them off and too prideful to ask anyone how, she just shrugged it off until about a week later she was pulled over for it.

Robin Hood

So, this afternoon we set out to watch the Disney cartoon 'Robin Hood.' Jessie thought it was a different story from the Kevin Costner version. In her words, "So what does this Robin Hood do? Cuz the other one steals from the rich to give to the poor, right?"

Answer; Seven

Question: How many times did Jessie trip over her own feet (or fall off a non-moving couch) in the space of 24 hours?

Paper Plates

By Amy
So at my little b-day lunch the other day when Anna, Jessie and I were cleaning up I made a comment about Beka and Dannys blog. I was saying I thought it was funny that Danny was asking if Anna wanted him to put his paper plate in the dishwasher when Ms. BYU graduate herself asked "wait, can you put paper plates in the dishwasher?" I guess there is no explaination need for this one!

What?

One of my ALL time favorite comments from Jessie was as we were driving to who knows where, we passed a billboard that had this emaciated looking woman laying on her side in a bikini and Jessie, in a completely serious voice, said, "Hey! They didn't ask me if they could use my body on that billboard!"

Donating Blood

Jessie said she doesn't remember this. So, either she did something really funny or told me a really funny story that I laugh at everytime I share it. The story goes... Jessie went to donate blood when we were in high school and had the following conversation with the guy, we'll call him Ralph:
Jessie: Do you have a scale?
Ralph: Why?
Jessie: I need to weigh myself?
Ralph: Why?
Jessie: Because I don't know if I meet the weight limit.
Ralph: ...

Cars II

So I, Anna, as well have a great story of Jessie regarding cars, and it just happened to be the same care referred to below. The car needed to be taken to the mechanic and since the location was in a sketchy area, Jessie asked that I go with her. As we were driving West on Southern, just before Gilbert Rd, the car died. It probably wouldn't have been as bad had it not been when Southern was completely torn up and there was only one lane of traffic in each direction and it was pretty close to rush hour. We had no where to pull off and we were blocking traffic so I instantly got out and said, kay, let's push it. But no, Jessie sat in the car and called her mom as I pushed the car by myself until she finished her phone call. Only later did we find out some friends of Jessie saw us but didn't bother to help (thanks whoever that was!).

Wedding Day

By Amy
No not Jessies wedding day but mine. I wish I had it on video but unfortuantly Jessie wasnt that lucky. It was right before my reception started and we were all in the house getting ready. Nobody was there except all my family that was helping with the food and setting up. Well we were standing in the kitchen when we look over and Jessie had run straight into the sliding glass door. It was not soft either. The door was shaking because she hit it so hard. Now all my cousins ask when I am talking about her if she is the one that ran into the door.

Cars

By Amy
It all started my Sophmore year of High School when I met Jessie. One of my favorite things that she has ever done was at lunch one day at Mountain View. We were leaving campus and she was saying she didnt want to drive because her a/c didnt work in her car. We ended up taking her car anyway, so I get in the front seat and rolled the window down, cranked the vent and then realized that the reason her a/c wasnt working was because she didnt have the a/c button pushed in so the vent had been going for who knows how long. I wonder sometimes how someone got their licence but didnt know there was an a/c button!!!

Another great story was also involving the same car. She was driving south on Lindsay just passing the Mt. View track when she heard someone honking so of course Jessie thinking it is no big deal that even though she is driving decided to turn around and check it out. Well little did she know that the person if front of her slammed their breaks on and that was Jessies first accident.

My final car story is the best one! We were driving to Anna's house from mine taking the back streets and she was going a little to fast! Well she ended up getting pulled over and got a ticket. We went back to my house because she was afraid to go home. Well my mom being the loving mother that she is kindly told Jessie that she would probably end up getting arrested. Jessie was bawling.

Dedication

This blog is dedicated to Jessie for all the wonderful things she has said in the past 10 years that I have known her. I would like anyone who has a great story about her to post a story. Just email me and I will give you the username and password. What would the world be like without Jessie!!!
